Beka Atoma Boru, the CEO and Founder of Xcellens Media Solutions, is a seasoned media professional with over a decade of experience in journalism and specialisation in digital media. He began his career in 2012 as a news presenter at the Oromia Broadcasting Network (OBN) and went on to serve as a senior journalist at the BBC in Nairobi, where he covered major stories from Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa for over five years. In 2022, he returned to Addis Ababa to lead Addis Standard, Ethiopia’s leading independent media outlet, as editor-in-chief. Throughout his career, he has built deep expertise in content development, media leadership, and digital storytelling, experience he now brings to the forefront of his company’s vision to shape the future of media in Ethiopia and beyond.

Elias Mulugeta Hordofa  Co-founder, Senior Trainer and Consultant With over nine years as a journalist at BBC News in Kenya and Ethiopia, Elias Mulugeta Hordofa specializes in digital journalism, producing impactful stories in multiple languages, social media videos, and radio content. At the BBC, he managed social media platforms, crafted compelling articles, and created multimedia content that resonated with diverse audiences. While working with BBC Media Action in Ethiopia and the BBC World Service in Kenya, he actively engaged in training, coaching, and mentoring journalists, adding depth to his expertise in content creation, media training, and strategic audience engagement. Whether reinforcing best practices for social media journalism at the BBC or guiding young journalists in local Ethiopian media houses, Elias has always been deeply passionate about professional development and capacity-building.
